The Place2Be helps build children's confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to cope with difficult life events, establish friendships and focus in class. This in turn makes school a happier place to be for all the children and school staff.
The Place2Talk service is offered to the children with conditional confidentiality, respecting the Every Child Matters guidelines. Confidentiality ensures children are able to explore issues freely, but they are also made aware that if safeguarding issues arise the School Project Manager will pass on these concerns to the Child Protection Officer who will then decide what action is needed and who else needs to be informed, (for example, teachers or parents). Where possible, children are encouraged to find ways to share worries they have with their parents or carers.

I would like to introduce myself as the School Project Manager for The Place2Be at Ridgeway School.
My role is to provide and oversee the services described above that The Place2Be offers. Our model is not simply to work with a child, but to work with the all the people who know and support that child on a daily basis, such as the teaching staff and of course most importantly you the parents and carers. To this end I am always very happy to meet with any parents or carers and would reassure you that no therapeutic work is undertaken without the full consent and knowledge of both the parent / carer and the child.
