Our Setting
  • Ridgeway Primary School and Nursery is located in Sanderstead, a residential area in South Croydon. 
  • It is a popular and thriving school, admitting 90 children each year into three Reception classes.  There are nearly 700 children on the school roll inluding 60 in the Nursery. 
  • The school is a community school maintained by the London Borough of Croydon and is non-denominational.
  • The school is situated on a spacious green field site tucked away in a pleasant residential neighbourhood between Sanderstead Hill and Upper Selsdon Road.
  • All classes are of mixed ability and are balanced by age, gender and ethnicity.
  • The school has a wide range of facilities to create an excellent learning environment.  The school buildings include two large halls, a cookery room, a music room, a nurture room and technology room in addition to computers in every classroom.   Our spacious grounds have been developed to create a stimulating outdoor area for both learning and play.  This includes a pond and wildlife area, large field, amphitheatre, trim trail, outdoor court, Reception river and cave area, outdoor covered learning areas for EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and KS1 (Key Stage One) and a traversing climbing wall.   
  • There is a popular Breakfast Club and After School Club, which from September 2018 is being run by the school.  It offers parents onsite provision which is convenient and secure.
  • In recent years the school has achieved the ICT Mark, Active Mark, Artsmark (Gold), Primary Science Quality Mark (Silver) and National Healthy School Status, in acknowledgement of achievement of excellence beyond the core curriculum.
