Ages of Admission
In Croydon schools all children are able to start primary school during the Autumn term of the school year in which they reach 5 years of age. This means that if your child will reach the age of 5 between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013, he/she may start school in the Autumn of 2012.

Nursery Admissions
Children will be entitled to 15 hours of Nursery places, please contact the school office for further information about admission to Ridgeway Nursery in September 2011. A meeting for new parents is held in the Summer term and the admission procedure is explained in detail to new parents prior to their children starting Nursery.
Reception Classes
We admit children into Reception classes in accordance with the Croydon Education Committee's admissions policy. Children start school in small groups over the first half of the term (September/October), depending on when their fifth birthday falls. All children come to school part-time at first, gradually increasing the length of the school day, until they are attending full-time. This system helps to ensure that children adapt happily and readily to their new environment and put down secure roots, which will stand them in good stead for the future. A meeting for new parents is held in the Summer term and the admission procedure is explained in detail to new parents prior to their children starting school.
Tours of Ridgeway Primary
We encourage prospective parents to visit Ridgeway Primary and Nursery where a member of the Headship Team will take you on a tour of the school. This will enable you to develop a good understanding of our school to inform your decision making when choosing a school for your child.
